Sony Kusumasondjaja holds Bachelor degree in Management from Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia. He obtained his Master of Commerce in Marketing in 2005 from The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. His passion in marketing studies and tourism motivated him to undertake his PhD in Tourism Marketing at Curtin University, Perth, Australia, which he completed in 2012. During his PhD life, Sony received several Best Paper Awards from major international academic conferences for his tourism research.
Sony is an academic who have great passion in tourism and travelling. His 12-year teaching experience doesn’t stop him from following his desire to go exploring new places and enjoying new experiences. He has explored some Asian countries, Australia and most Western European countries, but still tries to find his way to visit some of Indonesia’s most remarkable tourism destinations; such as Bunaken, Bangka Belitung, Wakatobi, or Raja Ampat. Although he feels that his travel experience is not “that much”, Sony thinks that he has some things noteworthy to share through his writings.
This blog is his initial step in fulfilling his passion in travelling and travel writing.
